Checklist for Buying a Natural Color Diamond

When buying a natural fancy color diamond, there are a few things that are always important to think about:

  • Make sure you are buying from a serious dealer. This is very important, to know the origin of your diamond and to be sure that it is 100 % conflict-free. At Langerman Diamonds, we buy most of our diamonds directly from the source, or from trusted, serious dealers, to always be sure of the origin of the diamonds. Like all diamonds dealers in Antwerp we comply with the rules of the Kimberley Process, which ensures that the rough and polished diamonds we buy are conflict-free.
  • It is important to have a guarantee that the color of your diamond is of natural origin. At Langerman Diamonds, we only deal with natural color diamonds, and we issue a guarantee for any diamond purchased from us, that the color is 100% natural. You can also ask for a certificate from a laboratory, which is especially important if you buy your diamond as an investment, and which we can help you with. • For the insurance of your diamond, it is important to ask for an expert’s report, indicating the estimated value, to be able to communicate this to your insurance company. We issue an expert’s report for all diamonds purchased from Langerman Diamonds, indicating the estimated market value for your diamond, to make sure that you can have it replaced, should you be so unlucky to lose or damage your diamond.
