Brazil

Brazil is a huge country with countless mines. Diamonds can be found in regions as diverse as Mato Grosso, the Diamantina region and the Tibagi river. The majority of Brazilian color diamonds are not gem quality; they usually have an olive-like color, which gives the impression that they are covered in oil. They have a very high fluorescence, to such an extent that they look even more greenish when exposed to the sun. Brazil does however also yield some exceptional color diamonds, and in particular the most beautiful and scarcest: red diamonds.
