Auctioneer Christie’s New York Important Jewels sale on June 10 raised $27,534,750. Top lot was an oval-cut fancy vivid pink VVS1 diamond weighing 5.50 carats bought for $9,753,000 ($1,740,545 per carat).

The JCK Las Vegas show closed on Monday with diamond suppliers satisfied with the level of sales even though trading activity was slower than previous years. Exhibitors noted that buyers bought goods to fill orders but they avoided larger scale purchases to fill inventory.

Christie's Important Jewels auction in London garnered $13.6 million (GBP 8.1 million) in sales and was 73 percent sold by lot. The top lot was a rare enamel and diamond snake wristwatch by Bulgari, circa 1965.
