Auction house Sotheby's is to auction a pear-shaped 110.3-carat yellow diamond in Geneva next month, with predictions that it will attract around $15 million.
Dubbed the Sun-Drop diamond, it was discovered in South Africa last year, and is described as the "world's largest known pear-shaped fancy vivid yellow diamond".
"This stone has immense presence and is truly stunning," said Sotheby's Switzerland co-chairman David Bennett. "It is also one of the largest diamonds ever to have appeared at auction."
The diamond is being exhibited in Hong Kong, before being sent to New York and London as part of an international tour ahead of the November 15 auction.
