Online sale opens of tickets for preview of Elizabeth Taylor jewellery sale

An online sale of tickets for a New York City preview exhibition of Elizabeth Taylor's jewellery and other possessions has opened with tickets costing $30 per person.

The 10-day exhibition will open December 3 at Christie's New York auction galleries, 10 days before the sale of the items by Christie's in New York starts on December 13.

Christie's will sell the screen legend's collection over a period of four days. The sale also includes Taylor's designer clothes, handbags, memorabilia, and fine and decorative art.

The exhibition includes the screen legend's legendary jewels, clothes, and pop-culture images.

Her famous jewellery collection is included in the display, including the best-known ring, the 33.19-carat Burton Diamond which is expected to sell for $2.5 million-$3.5 million. It is estimated that the entire collection will raise about $30 million.

Part of the profits from exhibition admissions, events and publications will be donated to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. Taylor died in March at the age of 79.
