Of the 275 exhibitors at the huge and eclectic fine arts fair here, there are only six in the high-end jewelry section, all of them family-run businesses.
“Where do you spend your money when you can afford to buy the world’s most fabulous things?” The question was posed rhetorically by François Graff, chief executive of Graff Diamonds, one of the exhibitors at the 10-day European Fine Art Fair, or Tefaf, which closes Sunday. “The fact that exhibitors in the Haute Joaillerie section are family-owned businesses is indicative of the great originality in design and the quest for quality that drives such businesses,” said Ben Janssens, who is on the board of trustees of the fair.
