This is the Largest D Flawless Heart-Shaped Diamond in the World
[Langerman Diamonds] A few days ago Graff showcased the largest D flawless heart-shaped diamond in the world.
The rough diamond weighing 357 carats was discovered in 2015 at the Letšeng Mine in Lesotho and sold for $19.3 million to an undisclosed buyer in September that year.
It took months to make the decision to transform this unique gemstone. The cut was made by Graff and the result preserves a stunning 118.78 carats, type IIa diamond, with “excellent” polish, symmetry and no fluorescence.
It's graded D color, the top of the scale for colorless diamonds.
“It is the most beautiful heart shape diamond I have ever seen,” said Laurence Graff, chairman of Graff Diamonds. The company underlined the fact that "A heart shape diamond must be perfectly faceted and entirely symmetrical to ensure a perfect silhouette and exquisite scintillation."
