The Pink Legacy, The “Leonardo da Vinci” of Diamonds, Fetches Record $50 Million.

[CNBC] «The "Pink Legacy," a diamond weighing just under 19 carats, fetched a record $50 million, purchased by U.S.-based luxury jeweler Harry Winston, Christie's said on Tuesday.

The Pink Legacy, which once belonged to the Oppenheimer family is the largest and finest fancy vivid pink diamond Christie’s has ever offered at auction. It's a rectangular-cut, 18.96 carats, VS1, Fancy Vivid Pink diamond.

The diamond's new owners have renamed this rectangular-cut gem, the Winston Pink Legacy.
